What's in a name?
We are GH1 Web Hosting, Inc. as of 06/15/01.
What does the G. H. stand
for?
It could be "Great Host", "Giant Host", "Global
Host" or "Growing Host". They are all good names but the
"GH"
in GH1 is now just GH but let me take you back to 1998 when we started. We
were known as GulfHost.com. Let me run down the names.
We now are using
GulfHost.com as our sister hosting company. We offer budget
Non-Cpanel hosting on that web site.

GHone.com - Name: Gulf Host One Web Hosting Company
GH1.com - Name: GH1 Web Hosting, Inc.
In 1998 I was the web master of my churches web site. Well, I went from
free hosting to paid hosting and then from host to host. I could not believe
the prices people were charging for hosting. I could not in good faith pay
such high prices for such low value product.
I also saw how people with
small sites go to the LOW PRICE hosting companies. Well they got low start
up prices, but often their email traffic was more bandwidth than the limit.
After you add the extra costs for email lists, extra email accounts
and bandwidth people were finding themselves paying $44.95 for a
"$3.95" web site!
I knew there had to be a
better way!
CUT THE OVER HEAD AND PASS THE SAVINGS ON TO THE CUSTOMERS!
That is what I did. I found
one of the best Data Centers and set up servers. I partnered with a CPA
so he could look after the Cash side and I looked after the tech side.
Well that was back in 1998.
Now things are growing and we are on the move. We are hosting more
accounts than some of our local ISPs. They can have the all the over head. We will
take all the customers!
In 2007 Dale Crow CEO became
the sole owner of GH1 Web Hosting. With this change we brought the
Billing Department in house to stream line things more. Having a CEO /
Owner gives the company one line of sight and more focus.
We went from Gulf Host to
the Host with the most! GH1.com!
